We first met at a conference on drone warfare back in November 2016. Following some really interesting conversations on our shared research interests, we set up an AHRC-funded research network the following year, writing responses to articles on technology, terrorism and armed conflict in the 21st century. Mike Ryder

Dr Mike Ryder (M.J. Ryder) is an interdisciplinary researcher and Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University. His interests include robots, AI, war, ethics, consumption, science fiction and the Vietnam War. His website is www.mjryder.net. Josh Hughes
